Wedding registries are one of the greatest innovations for wedding planning. Not only is it SO FUN for the bride and groom to put one together (it is like the ultimate shopping experience!), but it also makes it really easy for your guests to know exactly what you want. As easy as it is… this blog isn’t about doing what’s easy. It’s about going that extra mile!
Growing up, my mom was not a big supporter of letting my sister and me watch TV. We were either outside playing or doing arts and crafts, so DIY is in our blood. That said, the wedding gift Mo and I got from my sister, Anna, was nothing short of AMAZING. And that is why I want to share it with you.
The Gift that Keeps on Giving.
I love food. And I love getting packages. This gift goes from your doorstep…
to delicious!
Every month for six months, the newly married couple fills out a new card and selects one of the following:
- Dessert
- Breakfast
- Lunch Item
- Dinner
- Snack
- Beverage Item
They then mail their selection back to you (postage included). When you get the card back, you just buy the ingredients and ship them off to the couple for them to make together. It’s like putting an order into a restaurant, except the outcome is so much better!
How to Make the Monthly Meal Gift: Write on 6 different index cards the options for the couple to pick from. Have them write any specific requests on the back of that month’s card.
When you get their meal request, choose a relevant recipe and buy the required dry ingredients. Anna wrote out the instructions, but to make it easier you can print them right off of a website. Also include a shopping list for the couple of what is not included in the package.
I challenge you to make this as a gift for the next wedding you attend. Feel free to get creative and change it up! It may take longer than buying off of their registry, but this fun and personal gift will keep on giving and be one that they won’t soon forget. Comment with any questions or ideas you may have, I’d love to hear your thoughts!
I went the extra mile on Anna’s cupcakes 😉

Sooooo creative and thoughtful! Typical Anna ;). Love this idea; perfect for you guys too since you’re far from home! Those treats look delicious… Actively trying not to get out of bed to go eat a midnight (1am) snack.
