What’s for Dinner?

You find yourself in a big place, overwhelmed with all of the options and people running around you on a mission. So many choices, so much potential, but yet you seem frozen in place.

This my friends, is NOT describing me in Sydney, in case that’s what you were thinking.

It’s the grocery store.

Once you finally decide on one grocery store out of twenty options that you you have down the street, you walk in and have 1,000 more decisions to make. Whole wheat or multi-grain? Organic or Non-Organic? Farm-raised or wild? Cookies or vegetables? SO MANY CHOICES. But crazy enough, those aren’t even the hardest decisions to make. The hardest decisions lie in the answer to the never-ending question… “What’s for dinner?”

A sad, empty plate

I want to share with you six of my easy “go-to” recipes. These are the recipes that I have found simple and delicious and I keep coming back to! I have already made a couple of them here and love that even in a country that I have to think about which way to look before crossing the street, I don’t need to give much thought to the question of “what’s for dinner”!

For the sides, I also like to keep it simple. I’ll usually do a salad with whatever produce is in season, roasted vegetables (so delicious and crispy), or sweet potato fries.

Now desserts… let’s be honest, there are just too many good ones for me to even put on this blog. Instead, here’s a link to my Pinterest with all my favorite dessert recipes for you to take a look at yourself! Feel free to also browse more of my recipes on my “Main Course,” “On the Side,” and “Snacks” boards.

No more sad, empty plates! What are some of your “go-to” recipes?

  1. This is fantastic! I hate when it’s nearing dinner time & I realize I forgot to plan something in advance and have to scrounge up something random (& probably not so healthy) so I love that you did this. I definitely pinned at least half of these too!

My favorite recipes to make right now are this steak & potato stir fry (http://www.kraftrecipes.com/recipes/steak-potato-stir-fry-69219.aspx?cm_mmc=Social-_-Pinterest-_-Ahalogy-_-62919#_a5y_p=1038541) and this crock pot cheesy chicken and broccoli over rice (http://clippingmoney.blogspot.com/2012/07/crock-pot-cheesy-chicken-brocolli-over.html). Also we just tried this beef and broccoli recipe (http://kimmysbakeshop.com/beef-broccoli/) & it was very easy & really good. Those are probably my top three contenders right now.

    • Yep, the result is usually either going out (expensive) or on the fly (unhealthy)! I’ll have to check out the first and third recipe you posted- I wasn’t able to bring my crock pot with us! So sad!
