March Highlights

And just like that, we are three months into 2019! It has been one wild roller coaster of a year for me, but I can honestly say that despite the challenges, there has been SO MUCH GOOD. And we’re only three months in!

March was full of fun and exciting events. Here is a glimpse at some of them!

Cheered on my teammates at the Napa Half Marathon

Completed my 6-week pull-up challenge… and saw massive improvements!

  • Initial assessment: 2:30 minute plank + 2 pull-ups
  • Final assessment: 6:08 plank + 7 pull-ups

Participated in a running clinic at P4L Run Lab with my teammates, and even got to participate in some of the exercises.

Attended my first Barry’s Bootcamp class (I signed up for “double floor” so I didn’t have to do any treadmill), followed by brunch, champagne and cupcakes with my teammates!

Went wine tasting and brought a picnic to celebrate a friend’s birthday.

Continued working out by focusing what I COULD do and modifying anything I couldn’t do. I started F45 again, even tried a little boxing, and made some a new (furry) friend at the gym too!

Attended the California Artisan Cheese Festival in Sonoma with one of my coworkers, and went to (quite a few) wineries in Healdsburg the night before. A dance party in our hotel may have also happened after the wineries…

Read “The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up” and Marie Kondo’ed my closet (with Sydney’s help).

Spent one weekend at a fitness and business conference with a coworker, and even found a boot-buddy!

And last, by not least, I STARTED PT! I am now working on getting range of motion and calf strength back, and am slowly transitioning out of my boot in into my shoe.

There have been ups and downs, but ultimately I am thankful for all that has happened in the past month. A torn Achilles isn’t going to stop be from having fun and making the most of every day. Each day we get is a blessing and the worst thing we can do is focus on the negative. There is always good to every day and every situation, we just have to make the effort to find it and focus on it.

I’m excited to see what April has in store and in 4 weeks…… IT’S MY BIRTHDAY!! You better believe I’m already planning some fun festivities!
